Back from Holiday:

Hello friends! We are back from holiday!  We hope you all are doing good!

It has been a good time these last months. In our last post we told you about Fireslam, the first offical event of the House. Jeff Garvin joined us from Canada and we got to enjoy “The Sauce” of Daddy and see many miricales take place. You can read more about that report here. Really cool stuff! The spring and summer season has been a time where we have gotten to know the different people at The House and grown closer to a many here. We celebrated midsummer with a big party at our home and devoured some fresh mustard herrings & potatoes,  a real swedish tradition.  Since our arrival here Mikas has also been able to spend much more time with her grandparents and she loves it. They have been a tremendous help & blessing to us, given me and Linda opportunites to have some time to our selves now and then.

Scisso is the her Grandparents dog and has become a good friends. She usually lays down next to him in his sleeping place and hangs out when staying there.

This summer I ( Bas) had a opportunity to work some for Jerusalem which as fun. A bunch of graphic designs and a short commerical was made.  We toured with them to a couple of places here in Sweden and helped out with the merchandize, selling t-shirts and CDs, getting to know them better. Most of the summer we have been working though and have had regular routines with our family. I now work at Avero AB, a company that sells trampolines & private workout machines. In the beginning of the summer I was working with client calls but as the season went on I had the opportunity to start doing much more of their graphic design and filming. All of it resulted in that I now am  working fulltime there to be responsable for their graphic design and media needs. Really fun and really challengeing. There is big area to effect and bring about some good change. Check out my workblog for updates on the creative stuff.

Our only holiday was in Öland this year, one week total.Öland a long island on the east coast of sweden. We togehter with 30 families and other from The House went and had good times. 2 days sun, 2 days rain and the rest cloudy… I let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy and stay tuned!

Uprooted & Planted

Here it goes, Linda’s first input on the blog. I am to summarize the hole last year and to write something about the coming. I’m excited myself to get this printed. As a mother to a soon to be 2-year-old, working 75% and three times a week in church there isn’t much time for writing dairy.

Bair with me, my English writing isn’t the best.

Ok, I guess this story started already autumn 08. That was when we got the first uprooting visibly. After a long and good talk with close friends we were challenged and relieved at the same time. It was as if they had showed us the keys we needed to open new doors.

The day after our conversation Bas made a call to his boss and quit his job. He felt he should have done it some time ago and it was a relief when he finally did.

We also got the certainty to step out of New Life which was a huge step for us because of many different aspects:

We loved and had close relationships with many people there including Bas side of the family. I had been part of NL since I got saved 2001 and Bas had been there since he came to Stockholm 1990. AND we didn’t know where to move on to. BUT we were on a hunt for Jesus and he was saying GO! We had in our hearts a longing to give something more, to follow him, to go to a place where we would be trained to give all for the One that had already given us all.

It took some time to actually leave in a good way so around Christmas we made the official step. We had a talk with John and Kjell, the pastors of NL, we blessed them and they blessed us. This was very good. The only question “hanging in the air” was: Where are we going? We weren’t worried though because we knew Jesus had a place he was going to reveal for us if we just dared to step out. We were holding our breath.

Meanwhile the fellowship in our home continued with prayer and encouraging each other. But as that new year moved on it was as if the whole fellowship started to prepare for a scattering. A new season was coming. Some people already knew where they were going and some just knew they were soon supposing to. We were all excited to see where how and what? The uprooting continued with Bas not having a job, Linda not having a job and we felt that it was time to sell our apartment. It was as if all the attachments to Stockholm were evolving and letting go.

Somewhere around April we were truly filled with peace about moving to Gothenburg to become part of the House. For me it was like a dream come true. I have been longing to move there since I first came to Stockholm and just never had peace about going before. Bas wanted to go as much as me. That was just awesome! We had some doubts crossing our minds but when we finally made the decision we were gonna move we found a perfect place for us to live within just a week.

Being planted into the House and living in Lindome, Gothenburg, has been like breathing out. It was so right for us and such perfect timing. God is doing so much within us it’s hard to describe. Mainly it’s been a lot of focus on getting our family in right order. The vision is: we want to see a change in Sweden. To change Sweden we need to affect families. To affect families we got to change ourselves. So that’s where we are starting. Bas being the head of the family and not Linda or Mika. Dealing with a lot of control issues and rejection. Lovely! We are fasting and praying a lot and we love it! Everything is falling to place in order to work. The church is getting in order to work because: “It’s not about a church it’s a revolution” Not with human armor or weapons but with spiritual.

We are longing for, getting prepared for, getting trained for: Caring a revolution- beeing the revolution. Christ in us -The hope of glory.

We have been uprooted and planted.  From Stockholm to Gothenburg.
